Painting & Printmaking School of Fine Art

Grace Wolstencroft (She, her)

I am a visual artist based in Glasgow,  originally from the north of England. I explore themes through a variety of mediums to reflect and project my findings.   Photography, painting, drawing and filmmaking are my primary tools, for exposing the beauty I find in things as investigate.

My final degree show is dedicated to my best friend that sadly passed In 2022.  Her death motivated me to explore love and connection in the absence of the other  The work explores human connection and the possibility of love and connection beyond space and time from entanglement theory to rituals and belief systems. I documented the ritual of the collection process using feathers as a metaphor for connection. Through the documentation and charcoal drawings, I invite the viewer to engage in pareidolia as part of the ritual of un-worlding and re-worlding. The show reflects light and darkness, love and friendship, and life’s fragile illusions.
