‘AFT3RF0RM archives Glasgow’s alternative tattoo scene with a series of intimate darkroom prints. Exhibited alongside floral sculptures which correlate with each subject, the sculptures act as an extension of each image, forming a kind of cohesive human/non-human portrait. Rejecting the singular authority of the photographer, Aura champions image-making as a collaborative process, and an accompanying phonebook showcases both the tattoo artists and the glitchy yet ornate style they are pioneering.’ – The Skinny

UNDERGROUND MEDITATION
UNDERGROUND MEDITATION is an interdisciplinary project exploring the Chakras’ Theory about energy centres and their relation to a person’s physical body, mind, and emotional well-being. The project explores research and tools used in chromo, sound and sensory therapies in the decontextualised gallery environment.
Aura’s practice is based on performances that challenge the ideas of testing the self and is translated into video, sound and photography work. The artist touches upon the relationship between psyche and body, viewer and object of perception, tension and (dis)comfort.
UNDERGROUND MEDITATION plays with contradictory aspects of theory vs result and channels the performative spiritual experiences into art objects and audiovisual installations.
